What Is the Sculptra Buttlift?

A non-surgical butt lift using Sculptra® injections is quickly becoming more and more popular. Often referred to as the “liquid butt lift”, Sculptra® is a non-surgical injectable. Sculptra® is a bio stimulator made up of a unique sugar called PLLA (poly L-lactic acid) that stimulates collagen production. This action smooths cellulite, improves texture, and adds volume. It is injected into the fatty tissue above the muscle in the buttocks in order to strategically enhance and lift it’s appearance.

The Sculptra Butt Lift Process
Prior to Treatment
You will have an indepth consultation to go over your medical history, it will be determined if you are a good candiate for this treatment, and address specific concerns. It is important to let your provider know if you have any illnesses to minimize the risks of side effects. It is important to avoid alcohol a minimum of 48 hours prior to treatment and avoid anti inflammatories 2 weeks prior. Doing this helps decrease the risk of bleeding and bruising.
During Treatment
The injections will be administered in office by the provider you had your initial consultation with. The provider will mark the areas they will be treating. The area is numbed with a topical anesthetic to minimize any pain. The area is cleaned and prepped for injections. The provider will use the cannula technique. A needle creates an entry point to then use a blunt tip cannula to manuver without risk of punchering. You will feel a sensation but there should be no pain. It is able to administer the product beneath the skin to create collagen induction. The entire process takes about 45 minutes. Some patients may need multiple treatments to achieve their desired results.
Post Treatment
You will be able to go back to most of your daily acitivtied post treatment. It is recomeneded to not do any glute exercises for at least a week. It is a non invasive procedure, so you will not need a companion to drive you home. There is a possibility for the area to be sore and swollen for the first couple days. It is important to not sleep on your back or side to avoid putting pressure on the treated area.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR SCULPTRA® BUTT LIFT?
If you’re a healthy adult with realistic expectations about a non-surgical butt lift using Sculptra®, you’re the ideal candidate! Sculptra® is intended to gradually contour and lift the butt – it won’t give an instantly dramatic change. Patients who tend to benefit the most from the procedure are those with depressed buttocks.
One of our providers here at Allurant will have a consultation with you to discuss your goals, as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding the treatment. They will then evaluate to determine whether or not Sculptra® is the right treatment for you!
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL TREATMENT TAKE?
You can expect a treatment to take about 45 minutes. A topical numbing cream will be applied about 30 minutes prior in order to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. The Sculptra® injections typically take about 10-15 minutes.
WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?
Immediately after the treatment, you’ll notice plumpness. A few days later, the active ingredients in Sculptra® will gradually begin to take effect. Over the course of several months, the treatment will progressively boost the size and enhance the shape of your buttocks. Depending on your desired look, you may need a total of 4 treatments spaced about 3 weeks apart. Long term, Sculptra® has been shown to stimulate collagen production for up to 2-3 years.
What can I expect from my treatment?
Prior To Treatment
Prior to the actual treatment, a complimentary consultation is required. This allows for our providers to discuss your goals, problem areas, desired results, and to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Treatment Day
On the day of your treatment, your provider will mark the treatment areas prior to injections. We offer topical numbing prior to injection and a local anesthetic is included with the Sculptra in order to make you as comfortable as possible! Then, the Sculptra® injections are administered. Post-treatment, you’ll need to massage the injected area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes, for 5 days.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
There is minimal to no downtime with Sculptra®; however, you need to gently massage the treated area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes, for 5 days. You may experience slight tenderness, but you can return to your activities immediately following the treatment.
What are the side effects of this treatment?
Similar to any other injections, there may be some temporary swelling and bruising. Bruising typically takes about 1- 2 weeks to fully heal. We recommend taking Arnica tablets, as well as avoiding blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil, for a week or two before your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Sculptra® will gradually produce results over time with repeated treatments. Each treatment will cause the effects of Sculptra® to build naturally and undetectable improvement in the desired area(s). In as little as 2-3 treatment sessions, you can create more projection, volume and lift.
When will I see results from my treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you’ll be able to see a sneak peek of the end result. Keep in mind that it’s the sterile water in the Sculptra® solution you’re seeing. Optimal results are achieved anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months.
