What is a Radiesse Butt Lift?
The Radiesse Butt Lift is a non-surgical alternative to the more common butt lifts you’d go see a surgeon for. Typically, an augmentation procedure would require a surgeon to add volume to your buttock using an implant or fat grafts. In this case, instead of adding an artificial implant that could lead to a fake looking butt, Radiesse is injected.
Radiesse, in case you haven’t heard of it before, is a specific type of injectable dermal filler called a Bio Stimulator. Unlike most fillers that simply fill the area in which they are injected and stay there for anywhere from a few months to a few years, Bio Stimulators stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, the components that make your skin look full and healthy and give it strength and elasticity, in your own body. In doing so, the end results look much more natural, because your body created it! Radiesse is most commonly used in the face and hands, to plump up sagging, deflated skin. This is why it is also used to plump up and contour saggy, droopy or flat butts.
Your body needs time to create collagen and elastin, so the full effects will not be seen immediately. Immediately after the procedure, an increase in plumpness and volume is seen. These immediate results are from the volume of Radiesse that has been injected subdermally. The gel from the Radiesse gets absorbed over time, leaving the biostimulating particles. Collagen stimulation starts at around 3 weeks and continues to gradually build with natural looking results lasting over a year, or up to 3 years years depending on the patient’s age.

The Radiesse Butt Lift Process
Prior to Treatment
You will have an indepth consultation to go over your medical history, it will be determined if you are a good candiate for this treatment, and address specific concerns. It is important to let your provider know if you have any illnesses to minimize the risks of side effects. It is important to avoid alcohol a minimum of 48 hours prior to treatment and avoid anti inflammatories 2 weeks prior. Doing this helps decrease the risk of bleeding and bruising.
During Treatment
The injections will be administered in office by the provider you had your initial consultation with. The provider will mark the areas they will be treating. The area is numbed with a topical anesthetic to minimize any pain. The area is cleaned and prepped for injections. The provider will use the cannula technique. A needle creates an entry point to then use a blunt tip cannula to manuver without risk of punchering. You will feel a sensation but there should be no pain. It is able to administer the product beneath the skin to create collagen induction. The entire process takes about 45 minutes. Some patients may need multiple treatments to achieve their desired results.
Post Treatment
You will be able to go back to most of your daily acitivtied post treatment. It is recomeneded to not do any glute exercises for at least a week. It is a non invasive procedure, so you will not need a companion to drive you home. There is a possibility for the area to be sore and swollen for the first couple days. It is important to not sleep on your back or side to avoid putting pressure on the treated area.

Am I a Good Candidate?
If you have a flat, droopy or sagging buttock, and are looking for a non-surgical option to augment it and bring life into it, then the Radiesse Butt Lift is a great option. If you’ve considered a Brazilian butt lift, but you do not have enough excess fat to be used in a fat graft, then this option is also for you.
There are 2 important criteria that a patient must have in order to be a candidate for the Radiesse butt lift. The first is to be in a healthy condition overall. The second is to be able to maintain a fairly stable healthy weight. If you fit both of these criteria and are ready to move forward with the treatment, you must also be willing to be patient and commit to up to 3 treatments, spaced between 3 and 4 months apart to see maximum results. The best results will not be seen immediately, and 1 treatment may not do the trick. We will need to wait and see how your body reacts to the biostimulator and ask yourself if you are happy with the results it has provided, or if you want to add more volume and contouring
Why is my butt droopy, not perky?
Genetics. We cannot help the way our body is naturally shaped. It is possible to not have a saggy butt but instead have a naturally “flat butt.” You may not want to completely alter the shape and just increase the volume. Another possibility is having minimal elasticity in the skin, causing your butt to droop.
Aging. Aging is inevitable. As we get older, our muscles weaken. The weakening of the muscles causes the tissue to fall leaving a droopy appearance. This and volume loss can leave you unsatisfied with your butt.
Pregnancy. Being pregnant is an amazing thing. The fact that our bodies are capable of such a thing is truly remarkable. It is a lot of work on your body and it is natural to have changes post pregnancy. Pregnancy causes the pelvis to move foreward to accommodate the extra weight. This can cause the butt and hamstrings to weaken resulting in volume loss and sagging.
Fluctuations in weight Drastically losing weight can create loose skin where fat used to be. Fat is used to support the skin, keeping it from sagging. Building muscle is important but also takes a long time. The complete opposite can happen, if you gain a lot of weight fast, the skin can be stretched causing sagging.

WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?
Immediately after the treatment, you’ll notice plumpness. A few days later, the active ingredients in Radiesse® will gradually begin to take effect. Over the course of several months, the treatment will progressively boost the size and enhance the shape of your buttocks. Depending on your desired look, you may need a total of 4 treatments spaced about 3 weeks apart. Long term, Radiesse® has been shown to stimulate collagen production for up to 2-3 years.
What can I expect from my treatment?
Prior To Treatment
Prior to the actual treatment, a complimentary consultation is required. This allows for our providers to discuss your goals, problem areas, desired results, and to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Treatment Day
On the day of your treatment, your provider will mark the treatment areas prior to injections. We offer topical numbing prior to injection and a local anesthetic is included with the Radiesse in order to make you as comfortable as possible! Then, the Radiesse® injections are administered. Post-treatment, you’ll need to massage the injected area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes, for 5 days.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
There is minimal to no downtime with Radiesse®; however, you need to gently massage the treated area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes, for 5 days. You may experience slight tenderness, but you can return to your activities immediately following the treatment.
What are the side effects of this treatment?
How many treatments will I need?
Radiesse® will gradually produce results over time with repeated treatments. Each treatment will cause the effects of Radiesse® to build naturally and undetectable improvement in the desired area(s). In as little as 2-3 treatment sessions, you can create more projection, volume and lift.
When will I see results from my treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you’ll be able to see a sneak peek of the end result. Keep in mind that it’s the sterile water in the Radiesse® solution you’re seeing. Optimal results are achieved anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months.
